About William Gibney

William Gibney practiced law for forty-four years before deciding to retire. Bill currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Schools for the Deaf and Blind. He served ten years as President for the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Vice President for Power Paws, Inc., President of Pinewood Players, Inc., and elder of his church.  Bill also served on the Arizonans With Disabilities Act Committee to develop state legislation to complement the Americans With Disabilities Act. Bill was inducted into the Sigma Chi Hall of Honor at the University of Arizona in 2009.

Bill is married to Cheryl Parker, who became his paralegal in 2003. Cheryl was an anchor and reporter for Channel 12 news for many years, where she earned a Rocky Mountain Emmy award and numerous other local and state awards for her reporting. Among her most notable assignments, Cheryl interviewed Presidents Gerald Ford and George Bush, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, First Ladies Betty Ford, Nancy Reagan, Roslyn Carter, Barbara Bush, and hundreds of celebrities. Cheryl has always been active in the community, serving as keynote speaker and emcee of countless charitable events throughout Arizona.

When it came time for Bill to step down from the practice of law, he searched long and hard for an attorney who would treat his clients with the same level of integrity, professionalism, and compassion he offered throughout his career. Bill found the perfect fit for his clients in DeAngelis Legal. Quinn and the DeAngelis Legal team, like Bill, strive to develop strong personal relationships with clients.  They share the value of earning trust—not simply assuming that trust comes with a law degree.  That kind of testimony cannot be bought or sold. Bill is confident that DeAngelis Legal will meet or surpass his client’s expectations.

Together, Bill and Cheryl plan to travel, spend more time on stage acting and singing, possibly start a new business venture.

Rebecca Bottjen, Certified Paralegal

Rebecca (Bekki to her friends), has been a paralegal since graduating from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, with her Bachelors in Business Administration and Marketing in 2004.  She began her career at a creditors’ rights law firm in Columbus before moving back to her hometown of Phoenix and beginning work at a firm representing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees, which evolved into a Trustee Assistant role when the attorneys became Trustees themselves. After 8 years in the Bankruptcy field, Bekki decided that it was time to move to a “happier” field of law, and was lucky enough to begin working for Quinn in 2014. She loves being able to assist clients with setting up a plan for success and ensuring that success into their futures.  Bekki became a Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants in 2008 and earned her Paralegal Certificate from Phoenix College in 2010.

When she is not working for Quinn, Bekki can usually be found somewhere outside with her husband and daughter, and occasionally their two poodles, if they are lucky.
